A few visitors to my blog have asked me how I had put my needlebook together.  I fell in love with this finish after I had seen Nataliejo's needlebook and just had to have a go at making my own.  If you have ever made a pinkeep then you should definitely be able to finish a needlebook this way!  Below I have tried to explain a little of how I finished mine.  It is not a tutorial with pictures I'm afraid, but it should help if you wanted to have a try at finishing your own.

Supplies I used

For the front and back covers of the needlebook I used card that was a little thicker and was cut to size a little larger then the card I used for mounting the stitched piece and the fabric for where I placed the needle page.  I covered one side only, of the card for the front and back covers and also the card for the needle page, with quilters flannel (a little tip I had picked up).  I thought it would have a nicer feel to it then mounting the fabric straight onto the card.  The card for the stitched piece was covered with Warm and Natural Batting (I used two layers). Flannel and batting were all trimmed to the exact size of the card.

The card for the front and back covers were placed on one piece of the fabric, leaving a space between the two for the spine.  I left a space of approx ½", enough for the needlebook to close once the stitched piece and needle page were in place.  The fabric was then glued to the covers with the corners mitred.

A strip of fabric was placed across the spine.  The seams were folded in to meet at the middle so that it would be double thickness and fused together with Bondaweb.  This was then glued in place onto the covers.  The ribbon ties were also glued in place before attaching both the fabric covered card holding the needle page and the stitched piece.  I usually always like to stitch everything when I am putting anything together, but this time, apart from my stitched piece, as I always prefer to lace my stitching, I used Hi-Tack glue.

I hope this all makes sense! If there is anything I have missed or if I can help in any way, I would be more then happy for you to email me at: melitadraper@blueyonder.co.uk :o)
